Job Title: Facilities Technician/Codes Compliance

Salary: DOQ + Full Time County Benefits

Essex County seeks an individual to perform experienced work to include electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, carpentry and general repairs. This position will be responsible for general maintenance and repairs of County owned facilities and will train to perform building inspections as needed. This position is considered essential personnel and will be required to work during and following natural disasters and emergency situations.

Qualifications:

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma
• Must possess or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire, a valid Virginia Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record based on Essex County criteria.
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to 3 years of experience in the construction trades, carpentry and/or construction field.
• Must obtain at least (1) DHCD required residential inspection certification within 18 months of hire and all (4) residential inspections certifications within 36 months of hire.
