Essex County Hires County Administrator

Essex County, Virginia. 

During a special called meeting on December 14th, the Essex County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to appoint April L. Rounds as their permanent County Administrator and Clerk of the Board; Ms. Rounds has been serving in the interim capacity since December of 2022. 

Chairman of the Board, Rob Akers, stated “We are more than excited to appoint Ms. Rounds to the position of County Administrator. She has done a phenomenal job for us during the past year, and after a thorough recruitment process, the Board reached the unanimous conclusion that she was the best fit for our county and to lead our staff for years to come." 

Ms. Rounds commented, “I am honored to continue my service to the employees and citizens of Essex County and grateful for the Board’s unanimous appointment which affords me the opportunity to do so.”

Ms. Rounds appointment is effective as of December 15th, 2023.
